No More JoJo and SpacyStacyPunk
Jody and Stacy left last night, Stacy departing after almost a weeklong visit, and Jody after being here for only three days. The house was very quiet after they had left and I was somewhat listless, not sure what to do since they had gone. I did the crossword puzzle in the People Stacy had left behind, I stared somewhat disinterestedly at my computer screen, idly surfing and catching up on my blog-reading. Finally, feeling both exhausted and a little lonely I ended up going to bed. I am missing my sisters, we had a lot of fun when they were here.
Laugh Out When You Strike Your Pose..
So Stacy arrived on Thursday and we did do a pretty good job keeping her visit a secret from Jody – on Friday, she came to work with me, on Saturday we went our for lunch and then to get Stacy a hair cut. Stacy discovered the Revolutions – Dance Dance and Karoake; she spent a lot of time on the weekend dancing up a storm and singing along to Complicated.
The Arrival of Jojo
On Sunday, we went to pick Jojo up at the airport – I had Stacy hide around a corner, when Jody finally came through I gave her only the briefest of hugs before I excitedly blurted out “I have a surprise for you,” before steering her around the corner. Jody caught sight of Stacy and promptly burst into tears, and as my two sisters clung tightly to each other I danced around them in happiness. As Stacy would say, it was the best surprise ever!!
(Not My)Wedding Blither 🙂
Monday morning we headed out to Staples where we picked out invitations for Jody’s wedding in about fifteen minutes, grabbed some lunch at Kelsey’s and then went over to the bridal shop that my friend Indira had told me about. Jody must have tried on a dozen dresses but only one dress stood out in our minds really, and that was the first one she tried on (which I picked out!). The dress is really very beautiful and looks perfect on Jody – I have no doubt that she will make a stunning bride :). After we purchased the dress we headed over to the mall and shopped a bit, then went back home to get ready to go out for dinner at Moxie’s with Caius and Elisa.
Tuesday we got up and printed Jody’s invitations, spent the afternoon on the patio writing out the envelopes – then around five we went to the post office to buy stamps and then to the grocery store and liquor store for some stuff for our very impromptu barbeque on the patio. Following that, Renu et. al joined us for an evening of karaoke and cosmopolitans – we finally stumbled off to bed shortly after one, tired and all sung out.
Wednesday we headed downtown to have lunch at Milestone’s, spent some time goofing off taking photos on King Street and then an afternoon matinee of Mamma Mia – it was absolutely fabulous, a perfect way to end their trip and so much fun. It was divine!!
And, of course, there’s lots more photos here.
3x Thursday: 07/08/y2k+4: Sleep…(or lack there of)
1. On average, how many hours of sleep do you get a night? Is it enough, or do you need more? 7 is my average usually, and most nights it’s enough unless I’ve had a long day.
2. Do you normally sleep pretty well at night, or are you a toss & turner, insomniac, etc? Total toss & turner, and it takes me anywhere from fifteen minutes to half an hour to fall asleep.
3. Do you sleep alone, or with someone? If you sleep alone normally, how do you fair when you sleep next to someone, or vice versa if it’s the opposite?
Tay sleeps beside me – but I go to bed before him, so as I’m falling asleep I have the bed to myself – and then he finally comes into bed and I usually wake up and sometimes have a very fuddled conversation with him :).
Bonus Question: What’s your ideal sleep schedule? I would love to be in bed by 10:30, asleep by 11 and up at 6am to workout.
